The only reason why I stay on Facebook is so I can PM my Tumblr friends. I desperately want to leave Facebook. Please get your shit together so I can PM my Tumblr friends on Tumblr and delete my stupid Facebook account.

Hear, hear! The extent of my Facebook usage these days is to log in and see what my other more Facebook-involved friends have been doing and exchange messages with them. I, too, would love to leave Facebook. It’s a convoluted mess.
But, it’s the de facto standard social network, and everybody is on it. It’d be hard to convince all the people I care about to get involved enough with Twitter and Tumblr to make them (my preferred social networks) replace Facebook. Facebook is already so engrained in the popular mindset that getting people to leave it for other things would be like saying, “Alright everybody, throw away your Windows computers, and here, buy this Amiga!”
But one can hope, at least, for private messaging on Tumblr. Please, Tumblr? Please?
